ICMPhotoMag Beginnings Workshop Online Exhibition

ExhibitionExhibition

During this interactive, immersive, and collective ICM photography course, 10 participants and three mentors, from five countries, came together to explore creative image making through connections and stories, on a journey of discovery and self-expression, in a friendly co-learning environment.

The workshop was mentoring-based (rather than teaching-based), as participants were encouraged to discover their own unique path to creativity and storytelling through ICM photography.  The power of this course was found in mutual interaction, collaborative sharing, and immersive discussions above and beyond just technical exercises.

Participants developed a deeper understanding of their own photographic and artistic processes through immersion, reflection, and self-expression, as they explored ways to answer questions about how they might use ICM photography to tell more meaningful stories and bridge connections to both the inner landscape of the spirit, as well as to the outer landscape of the world in which we all live.

Using poetry, other writings, music, imagery, and concepts as prompts, these starting points guided the participants on a journey of exploration, through the creation of new ICM work, as well as through journaling during the course of the workshop, enabling them to build a meaningful personal project based around a chosen theme.

Inspired by the Beginnings Workshops, Kaisa, Morag, and Stephanie are in the process of building a collaborative, continuous learning membership community, with a planned launch date of June 1st.

This new initiative will bring many of the features of the 5-week intensive workshops to a collaborative, continuous learning community...one which offers an ongoing, rolling, monthly workshop-style environment, with new themes, content, live sessions, guest photographers, and much more each month....all with the goal of helping you grow in your ICM photography and inspiring you to tap more deeply into your own creativity...in a supportive, encouraging, safe atmosphere that will help nurture your artistic vision.
