The Winter Landscape in Colorado
Winter can be a season of cold and overcast skies in Colorado—not one that would naturally inspire a photographer. But it's my environment, so I set out to find the beauty in winter and discovered that winter has a color palette of its own. There is a whole spectrum of colors—greens, blues, browns, and grays—that revealed itself as I walked around neighborhood lakes and explored the Rocky Mountain National Park.
There is also the mood of winter, one of serenity and quiet, that is not felt during other seasons of the year. Many days, I was alone with just the quiet forests and lakes. I hope my pictures reflect the feeling of serenity and quiet that I experienced as I discovered light in the dark of winter.
