Zero Footprint Competition Winners

If you read the November Special Environmental Issue, you may have seen the Zero Footprint Competition Call for Submissions.  The deadline for submissions was 24 November 2021, and we announced the winners on 30 November 2021.

In that issue, we asked readers to explore the concept of creating environmentally-themed ICM images that make a statement about the environment.

The three environmentally-themed categories were:

  1. Hope
  2. Climate Change
  3. Biodiversity

The Hope category required both an image and a written text explaining Hope in an environmental context.

There were many thoughtful and provocative submissions made across all the categories, making our selections quite a difficult task. After much deliberation between Kaisa, Morag, and myself, we are extremely excited to announce the following winners!

  • Hope Category - Valerie Huggins
  • Climate Change Category - Solange Boulet-Bélanger
  • Biodiversity Category - Amy Newton-McConnel

Below are the winning images, as well as an image showing the prizes that were on offer for this competition.

This competition was open only to readers of the magazine.

Each winner receives a copy of the Zero Footprint Book from Morag Paterson and either the pillow or one of the scarves from Kaisa Sirén.
