This issue features a Photographer Spotlight on Karen Waller, who is a creative photographer based in southern Australia. Karen is well-known for the very ethereal quality of her imagery. Employing blur and abstraction in her creative photography to make painterly marks that harken back to her days as a painter. Karen embraces imperfection and risk-taking in her creative photographic processes, using a variety of tools and techniques, which you will read about in her article. Karen's imagery speaks to the passage of time and the concept of making time visible, and in her written piece, she shares the ideas, thoughts, and passion that drive her creativity.
This issue also includes short features from the Santa Fe Workshops Art of Abstract Photography in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico -- which was open to creative processes that extend beyond traditional ICM to explore abstraction. With these short features, readers will begin to learn more ways to play with their creativity and artistry. The workshop mentors -- Renee Lynn, Philip Sager, and Stephanie Johnson -- also share their experiences leading this group of creative photographers.
Additionally, in keeping with the idea of celebrating creative photography with Intentional Creative Moments, Malin Fabbri, of AlternativePhotography.com, share an article covering the 'How-To' of making Cyanotypes.
