ICM Photography Magazine December 2022

The Photographer Spotlight for the December 2022 issue is Doug Chinnery, who is a world-renowned creative photographer based in the United Kingdom. Doug has been at the forefront of ICM photography for many years, as he has long felt that sharpness is over-rated, and he has become known for his abstract photography work using multiple exposure and intentional camera movement. He continues to be a leading practitioner, teacher, and mentor of creative photographic techniques, and many credit him with being their original inspiration for turning to ICM photography.

In Doug's article, he writes about his focus on the 'intentional' part of ICM and creative photography and encourages readers to find their 'why' for creating abstract imagery using camera movement. He also shares his philosophy on why and how he blurs details, creates mystery, tells stories, and allows space for viewers to see their own narratives and memories in his images.
